about
Good Genes
Originating in 1905 in the Murray River Valley in New South Wales the cattle were first bred. They were a cross of a black Aberdeen Angus and a roan Shorthorn cow, giving the Murray Greys their grey coat.
From their Angus ancestors, they inherit dark skin pigmentation. This feature makes them less susceptible to skin or eye problems, even in severe climates.

Great Temperment
Murray Greys are known for their docile temperament and ease of handling. They exhibit a calm and gentle demeanor. Their easy-going temperament makes them manageable and stress-free to work with on the farm.
Their docility is beneficial during handling, breeding, and other management tasks. Murray Greys readily adapt to new environments and settle well.

Calving
It's a bit of a myth that you've to select the right bull for calving, as 90% of calving problems come from heifer cows and cows being extremely underweight.
We all know the saying “Our big cow, it spits them out”. There is a reason for this as she has good size and weight on her and is not undernourished, all this combined leads to easy calving.
Stock agents are amazed when they walk in the yards to draft bulls as they are so quiet and very well behaved to be around and handle.
Why get bobby calf price for great calves, when you can cross a beautiful placid Murray Grey and get beef price for your calves.

Vetcare
Our Murray Greys do not have foot problems at all due to careful selection of sires. No woody tongue, pink eye, all TB free and BVd free. All our animals are tested annually.
Easy to drench and handle in the yards – they do not need much horsepower behind to drive them. You can call them, or they will come to the sound of the tractor.
Our Murray Grey calves when born are long and slender, and within four weeks of calving the weight has already piled in. These calves are fed right and they can easily reach 300kgs at nine months of age. One of our repeat customers has achieved this regularly.
